🚐 Our Home Base: Sun Outdoors Orange Beach

For this trip, we stayed just over the state line in Orange Beach, Alabama at Sun Outdoors Orange Beach. It was a comfortable, clean, and well-located RV park that gave us easy access to both Pensacola and the surrounding beaches.

🏙️ Downtown Pensacola: Charming & Walkable

We started our visit with a stroll through Downtown Pensacola, where historic buildings meet boutique shops, local art galleries, and cozy cafés. The vibe is friendly and laid-back, with plenty of spots to grab a bite or just people-watch.

🍻 Pensacola Bay Brewery: Local Flavor on Tap

We’ve always been fans of finding local breweries, and Pensacola Bay Brewery is one of our favorites. Located right in the heart of downtown, it’s the perfect place to sit outside, sip a cold craft beer, and soak in the coastal atmosphere. Our favorites are Sawgrass Wheat and Riptide Amber.

🐟 Red Fish Blue Fish: Fresh Gulf Coast Eats

Dinner was at Red Fish Blue Fish, a Pensacola Beach favorite. Their menu is loaded with fresh seafood and Southern flavors, all served with beautiful views of the water. We recommend grabbing a table outside for the full experience—especially at sunset.

✈️ Blue Angels Practice at NAS Pensacola

No trip to Pensacola is complete without catching the Blue Angels in action. We timed our visit to see one of their practice sessions at Naval Air Station Pensacola, and it was absolutely unforgettable. Watching these jets fly in perfect formation never gets old, no matter how many times you’ve seen it.

Tip: Check the practice schedule before you go—these are free to attend and an absolute must if you’re in the area.

⚾ More to Explore in Pensacola

We couldn’t hit all of our old favorites this time, but Pensacola has plenty of other gems worth checking out:

  • Hub Stacey’s – A casual local spot with great sandwiches and live music.

  • Pensacola Blue Wahoos – A minor league baseball game here is perfect for a fun, affordable night out.

  • Fort Pickens – History lovers will enjoy exploring this historic military fort right on the Gulf Islands National Seashore.
